Warehouse Operations Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW This is a hands-on warehouse seat for someone who knows their way around a forklift, a reach truck, and a receiving dock. You will handle inventory storage, shipping and receiving, and day to day space utilization for an active industrial warehouse, reconciling every receipt against the purchase order in SAP. This is floor work in an industrial environment, not an office or planning desk role, and the person in this seat is expected to catch stocking and capacity problems before they turn into operational ones.

Salary: $25.96 per hour
Location: Charleston, WV (fully on-site, no remote flexibility) S
chedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Contract, September 21, 2026 through March 31, 2027, with potential to extend
Reports To: Warehouse Foreman

RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Handling:

• Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks safely throughout the shift
• Receive, stage, and store incoming material in assigned warehouse locations
• Pull, stage, and load outbound shipments for field and project delivery
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted as part of routine daily work

Inventory and Systems:

• Reconcile receiving against purchase orders and process goods receipt transactions in SAP
• Record inventory movements, adjustments, and issues accurately and on time
• Conduct periodic physical inventories and research count discrepancies
• Maintain clean, accurate location and bin records

Warehouse Operations:

• Monitor space utilization and recommend layout or storage adjustments
• Flag stocking level and capacity concerns to the Warehouse Foreman before they affect operations
• Hold the warehouse to safety, housekeeping, and material handling standards
• Support the broader warehouse team on shipping, receiving, and project surges as needed

REQUIREMENTS
Required:

• 4 or more years of hands-on warehouse or material handling experience
• Current forklift and reach truck certification, or demonstrable recent operating experience. A valid copy of certification must be embedded in the resume at submittal
• Working proficiency in SAP for goods receipt and inventory transactions
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted and perform physical work throughout the shift
• Post-secondary education. This is required for consideration if the role is extended or converted to full time employment
• Reliable attendance for a fully on-site, weekday schedule

Preferred:

• Warehouse experience in an energy, utility, pipeline, or industrial setting
• Experience supporting field crews or project material staging
• Cycle counting or physical inventory experience in an ERP environment
