I&E Estimator

POSITION OVERVIEW

Salary: Based on experience
Location: Houston, TX
Role Type: Direct-hire, full-time

CLIENT OVERVIEW

Our client is a Texas-based electrical contractor specializing in large-scale greenfield industrial construction -- oil and gas, data centers, semiconductor facilities, industrial water, and power infrastructure. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the preparation of detailed electrical and instrumentation estimates for large-scale greenfield industrial projects
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop accurate, competitive bids
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and labor/material analysis for electrical and I&E scope
  • Collaborate with project management and field leadership to validate assumptions and refine estimates
  • Manage bid schedules and coordinate with procurement on material pricing
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients through the bid process
  • Track bid outcomes and incorporate lessons learned into future estimates
  • Support preconstruction activities including scope clarification, value engineering, and RFI management

REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • 5+ years of electrical estimating experience with a strong focus on industrial or greenfield construction
  • Solid background in instrumentation and electrical (I&E) scope on industrial projects
  • Experience estimating projects in oil and gas, data centers, semiconductor, power, or industrial water sectors
  • Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, McCormick, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, P&IDs, and specifications
  • Strong math, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Prior experience at an industrial electrical contractor in a lead or senior estimator role
  • Familiarity with large labor forces and self-perform electrical contracting models
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
