Refined Product Trader
POSITION OVERVIEW This is a senior trading seat for someone who knows the refined petroleum markets and wants real ownership of a physical products position. You will source and procure product, build out term supply contracts, manage risk, and shape the optimization strategy that keeps supply balanced and margins strong. It is a high-impact role with direct influence on the company's position and profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive margin improvement across physical product origination supply, contract structure, and trade execution
- Define and run a trading strategy around origination, inventory, infrastructure, and sales commitments across the Gulf Coast and Chicago markets, using transportation on the Explorer, Buckeye, and Laurel pipelines
- Execute risk management on the daily electronic platform market
- Monitor inventory levels through daily collaboration with the sales group
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major oil refiners, blenders, supply partners, terminal and pipeline operators, and the broker community
- Optimize logistics around product blending (butane, naphtha)
- Identify and capture arbitrage value across regional markets
- Develop trading strategies that capture margin enhancement
- Identify new markets, derivative-based programs, and opportunities to participate
- Coordinate purchase and sale of inventory hedge positions with the Program Trader to keep the daily position balanced and in line with the company's Risk Management Policy
- Analyze market trends, supply and demand dynamics, and price differentials
REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of energy trading experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university
- Hands-on knowledge of electronic trading platforms and related exchanges
- Proven track record of delivering value-add trade strategies and position growth
- Logistics and sales experience across the energy complex
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with sound, timely business judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Tableau, Power BI, CME, ICE, DTN, CQG, and Refinitiv
