CNC Lathe Machinist
Position Overview

Pay Rate: $28.00 – $38.00/hour (based on experience and skill level)
Location: Clairton, Pa
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Flexible scheduling available after 30 days

Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC lathe equipment to produce precision components per engineering specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T callouts
- Select and set proper tooling, speeds, feeds, and offsets to maintain tight tolerances
- Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, making adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with shop standards
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support first-article and production runs
Requirements
Required:
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes in a production or job shop environment
- CNC programming experience (Fanuc, Mazak, or similar controls)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred:
- Experience with live tooling or mill-turn machines
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Background in aerospace, defense, oil & gas, or other precision industries
- Experience with CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
