Natural Resource Permitting Coordinator

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
Location: Richmond, VA
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday. Hybrid Schedule

What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinate and manage natural resource permitting processes for environmental and construction projects across VA
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for wetlands, waterways, endangered species, and other natural resource areas
- Work directly with state and federal regulatory agencies to move permits through to approval
- Conduct environmental site assessments and field investigations related to natural resource impacts
- Review project plans and identify permitting requirements early in the project lifecycle
- Monitor compliance with permit conditions during and after construction
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to keep projects on schedule and in compliance
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and regulatory documentation
- Stay current on changes to VA environmental regulations and natural resource policies
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in natural resource permitting, environmental consulting, or a closely related field
- Hands-on experience with VA state permitting processes and regulatory agencies
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline
- Solid understanding of Clean Water Act Section 404, ESA, and state-level natural resource regulations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for agency coordination and technical documentation
- Ability to conduct field work, including site visits and environmental assessments
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region as projects require
Preferred:
- Experience working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and state environmental agencies in VA
- Familiarity with wetland delineation, threatened and endangered species surveys, or ecological assessments
- Professional certifications such as PWS, CWB, or similar credentials
- Experience supporting utility, pipeline, or solar construction permitting projects
