Hot Shot Driver
Position Overview
Hot shot work keeps the oilfield moving — and that means you need to be ready when the call comes in. We haul equipment, pumps, pipe, materials, and anything else the job needs, sometimes light and simple, sometimes heavy and awkward. If you know how to make an odd load work and you're comfortable being on call, this is a good fit.
Pay: Competitive — based on experience Location: Within ~150 air miles of Washington, PA Schedule: Primarily on-call | Some clients have scheduled daily runs | Day shift
Take-Home Truck: Yes — most hot shot drivers take their truck home
Company Overview
A regional oilfield services company running hot shot loads across southwestern PA and surrounding states. The work varies — some days it's a routine scheduled run, other days it's a last-minute call to move something nobody else can figure out. All energy sector work.
Responsibilities
- Haul oilfield loads including equipment, pumps, pipe, and materials to job sites across the region
- Properly secure all loads — light loads, heavy loads, and the awkward in-between stuff — in compliance with DOT requirements
- Respond to on-call dispatch requests in a timely, professional manner
- Manage daily driver logs, load documentation, and vehicle inspections
- Maintain truck in field-ready condition; take-home truck provided for most drivers
Requirements
Required:
- Valid driver's license with clean MVR
- Experience securing and transporting a wide variety of load types — heavy, light, oversized, and irregular
- Strong understanding of load securement, tie-down techniques, and DOT compliance
- Ability to work on-call with flexibility for scheduled runs
- Self-directed and dependable — can manage a day's runs without hand-holding
Preferred:
- Prior hot shot or oilfield hauling experience
- Familiarity with southwestern PA and surrounding oilfield areas
