Position Overview
Our client is a nationally recognized engineering and construction company specializing in helical pile foundation solutions for energy, industrial, and infrastructure projects. They're looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to be their first dedicated hire in the Greater Pittsburgh region and build out the Appalachian Basin territory.
Salary: Base + Commission (1% on gross revenue)
Location: Remote / Field-Based – Greater Pittsburgh Region
Travel: Regional – Appalachian Basin (OH, PA, NY, WV)
Schedule: Full-Time | Immediate need
Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across the Appalachian Basin, with a focus on midstream operators and industrial clients
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at target companies
- Develop upstream business as an additional growth opportunity beyond the core midstream focus
- Represent the company at industry events, client sites, and regional meetings throughout OH, PA, NY, and WV
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to develop proposals, scope projects, and transition opportunities from pipeline to execution
- Provide market intelligence on regional activity, competitor positioning, and emerging project opportunities
- Travel within the Appalachian region as needed to build relationships and close deals
Requirements
Required:
- Proven business development or sales experience in the energy, industrial, or engineering construction space — this is not an entry-level position
- Established network or strong familiarity with midstream and upstream operators in the Appalachian Basin
- Ability to speak the language of the industry — understanding of oil & gas operations, midstream infrastructure, and industrial project cycles
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to build a territory from scratch as the first regional hire
- Willingness to travel regionally throughout OH, PA, NY, and WV
Preferred:
- Experience selling engineering, construction, or foundation services
- Background in the petrochemical or power generation sectors
