Job Description

Position Overview:
A well-established industrial pipe manufacturer in the McKeesport, PA area is seeking a skilled MRO Buyer to join their purchasing team immediately. This is a hands-on procurement role focused on sourcing electrical, mechanical, and technical components that keep a high-volume production facility running. Salary: $31.74/hour (negotiable based on experience)

Location: McKeesport, PA

Current Schedule: 5 x 10s + every other Saturday

  • Shift options: 05:30–15:30 or 07:30–17:30 | Saturday: 05:30–13:00

Typical Schedule: 4 x 10s + 1 x 8 (Monday–Friday)


Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase MRO goods and services from multiple vendors, evaluating price, quality, and delivery speed
  • Research, evaluate, and procure parts for daily operations and facility repairs
  • Purchase complex, technical, or specialized equipment and materials manufactured to company specifications
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and code specifications to determine proper equipment for installations
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager and General Manager on procurement strategy and special assignments
  • Maintain vendor relationships and identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements

Requirements:

Required
  • 2–3 years of experience in an industrial production or manufacturing procurement role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven blueprint reading skills with ability to verify received parts against schematics or written specifications
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and work overhead
  • Must pass background and substance screening (permanent position)
Preferred
  • Experience buying electrical components: motors, relays, overloads, cables, switches, sensors, variable speed drives, switchgear, transformers, generators, hydraulic/pneumatic control systems
  • Experience with mechanical components: weldments, machined parts and assemblies, hydraulic cylinders, gear cutting, grinding, plating, heat treating
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or another ERP system
  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
