CNC Mill Operator

Position Overview

Join a precision manufacturing team as a skilled CNC Machinist where you'll set up and operate CNC machining centers to fabricate high-quality metallic and nonmetallic parts. Location: Natrona Heights, Pa
Schedule: 4-day work week (10-hour shifts) - Choice of 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on CNC machining centers
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments
  • Verify finished part dimensions using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, and gauge blocks
  • Deburr edges and holes while protecting parts from damage during production and subsequent operations
  • Set tool offsets, adjust cutter compensation values, and manage machine zeros
  • Fit and assemble machined parts into complete units following shop procedures and standards

Requirements:

Required:

  • Proven ability to operate and maintain CNC Mills
  • Blueprint reading skills with ability to interpret various view orientations, tolerances, and tap drill charts
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including bore gauges
  • Understanding of basic G-code programming and ability to modify offset values
  • Knowledge of proper material identification and machining specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards

Preferred:

  • NTMA apprenticeship completion or equivalent training
  • Experience with multi-machine operations
  • Familiarity with shop mathematics and machinability of various materials
