Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Position Overview

This isn't a call-center HVAC job — it's hands-on commercial work with real variety across boilers, chillers, rooftop units, and split systems throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. We're looking for a technically sharp, self-directed professional who takes pride in diagnosing problems right the first time and building genuine trust with customers. Salary: $30.00 – $40.00/hr (based on experience)

Location: Gibsonia, PA 15044

Service Area: Pittsburgh metro area, including portions of Ohio and West Virginia

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (after-hours on-call rotation as needed)

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain commercial HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, rooftop units (RTUs), and split systems
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify root causes and restore optimal system performance
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs across client locations throughout the Pittsburgh area
• Communicate clearly with customers to address concerns, explain service needs, and maintain positive relationships
• Maintain accurate, detailed service records and documentation for each job
• Travel to job sites using a company-provided vehicle and equipment
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls when on rotation

Requirements

Required:

• Proven hands-on experience with commercial boilers, chillers, RTUs, and split systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and property maintenance background
• Reliable, motivated, and genuinely customer service-oriented
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team
• Willingness to travel throughout Pittsburgh and into Ohio and West Virginia
• Must pass background check and drug screening

Preferred:

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience
• Controls experience with BAS/BMS systems
• EPA certification
• Trade school education or technical certifications
