Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join our client's team in the Appalachian region. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in oil and gas title opinions, legal research, and the resolution of complex title issues in the context of land leasing and mineral rights. The position requires a deep understanding of oil and gas laws, state regulations, and landowner rights within the Appalachian basin, with an emphasis on title examination and legal guidance related to energy operations.

Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and analyze oil and gas title opinions, including initial, supplemental, and division order opinions.
- Conduct thorough research of land and mineral title documents, deeds, leases, and other public records to determine ownership rights and obligations.
- Provide legal counsel regarding title issues, leasing, acquisitions, divestitures, and related matters.
- Assist in the preparation and negotiation of oil and gas contracts, joint venture agreements, and related legal documents.
- Represent the company in resolving disputes related to title, ownership, or land rights through negotiation or litigation if necessary.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license with at least one year of experience drafting title opinions covering lands in Ohio, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania
- Strong understanding of federal and state oil and gas regulations, particularly those pertaining to the Appalachian region
- In-depth knowledge of title examination procedures, landowner agreements, leasehold interests, and title curative work
- Meet quarterly billable hour requirement of 450 hours.
