Job Description

Position Summary:
The Land Tech will perform a variety of tasks within the Land Department. This position is responsible for coordinating and communicating with Lease Records and Billing as well as other departments, assisting with the creation of ownership reports, digital files, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Applicable certifications/education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a land technician/analyst in the oil & gas industry
  • NALTA membership preferred
  • Ability to operate internal Land Programs
  • Experience handling and organizing computer files (copying, moving, organizing in folders)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software and computer technology
  • Ability to work as a team in an office environment
  • Proven ability to organize the physical flow of work documents
  • Proven ability to verify the accuracy of numerical data
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to effectively handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Capable of high productivity in a deadline-driven environment with requirement for extreme accuracy
  • Proven excellent customer service orientation and ability to interface in a positive manner with internal and external customers at various organizational levels and from diverse cultures
  • Problem-solution orientation; good analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed

Essential Functions:
❖ Assist with Prospect Management:
  • Coordinate and communicate with Lease Records and Billing about prospect requirements
  • Strategic planning and job progress evaluation
  • Prospect follow-up, cleanup, and customer service
  • Review work product, edit and/or correct
  • Communicate with landmen and/or clients
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of ownership reports, lease packets, abstracts, lease files, digital files, and client spreadsheets
  • Process original documents received in the office and assist with recordation
❖ Coordinate with Supervisor(s):
  • Brainstorm and troubleshoot
  • Track prospect progress and report to PM
  • Assist PMs with contacting potential contractors
  • Assist with any assignment requested by PM or PC
❖ Promote and Support the Company:
  • Participate in national and local associations
  • Promote company to clients, potential clients, landmen
  • Promote working relationships in the best interest of DLC
  • Make personal contacts
  • Promote Quality, Service, Value, Professionalism, Accountability
❖ Understand and Operate all DLC Systems:
  • CALMS
  • Lease Records
  • Time and Expense Procedures
  • Chain of Authority
  • Company policies
