Job Description

We are seeking a Controller for a local paving company north of Pittsburgh, PA!

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company. This role requires a strong accounting background, with a CPA preferred, and involves leading the accounting team to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial management.

Salary: $130,000-$150,000/year

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and forecasts for senior management. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company’s budget, including periodic updates and variance analysis. Assist in long-term financial planning and forecasting.
• Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and requirements.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in the construction or paving industry is a plus.
