Job Title: Cloud Network Engineer (Cloud & Software Defined Networking)
Location: Customer Site (Full-time on-site in a closed area)
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Secret Clearance Required
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure, high performance networks that span on premise data centers, public cloud environments, and enclave based domains. The ideal candidate will have deep hands on experience with cloud networking, software defined networking (SDN), and container native networking solutions, particularly within Kubernetes environments. This Cloud Network Engineer will spend the majority of their working at the customer sites in Huntsville.
The program is interested in someone who has hands-on experience standing up a network environment (switches, routing tables, ABAC/RBAC rules, etc.), ideally in the context of a cloud environment. Kubernetes experience or cluster networking would be a big plus but the main challenge were trying to address is on the physical infrastructure side. The candidate who fills this role would be tasked with helping design and possibly implement the actual network infrastructure required to achieve SWICs overall capabilities so we would want someone who has practical experience in establishing and managing that infrastructure.

o Implement network segmentation, access controls, and policy enforcement across cloud and on premise resources.
o Build and manage cloud networking infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
o Configure and troubleshoot multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic for high throughput applications.
o Deploy and maintain Software Defined Network (SDN) platforms and hardware based network appliances.
o Integrate network services with Kubernetes using CNI plugins and container based networking.
o Connect remote cloud instances to on premise data centers, ensuring reliable routing and latency optimization.
o Support hybrid cloud architectures and remote enclave connectivity.
o Automate network provisioning and changes using IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
o Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting for network health and security events.
o Work closely with security, DevOps, and application teams to define network access protocols and rules.
