Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Huntsville, AL
Clearance: DoD Secret
The Systems Engineer will report directly to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead and play a pivotal role in ensuring the System Design is thoroughly integrated and closed across diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the technical lead for the integration of the All-Up Round (AUR).
Lead and coordinate a complex, multidisciplinary engineering team, including experts from Aero, Thermal, Separation Dynamics, Loads, Stress, Trajectory Design, NG&C, Flight Software (FSW), Mechanical Design, Mechanical Integration, Initiation, Instrumentation/Telemetry, Thermal Protection Systems (TPS), and Ground Testing.
Organize and facilitate regular working meetings, maintain project schedules, and track closure of action items.
Implement and maintain effective configuration and version control processes to support rapid modeling revisions.
Ensure timely analytical predictions are produced ahead of flight tests, facilitating immediate post-flight analyses, model correlation, and eventual validation based on flight test data.
Conduct and manage trade studies to guide hardware configuration/design adjustments and mission architecture refinements aimed at enhancing robustness and reliability.
Support the comprehensive identification, derivation, verification, and validation of system requirements.
Identify, track, and mitigate risks related to AUR development.
Regularly brief senior leadership and customers as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline from an accredited college or equivalent combined education and professional experience.
Proven technical leadership experience in missile development.
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Active or current U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Desired Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Comprehensive experience across the engineering lifecycle, including system definition, design, build, testing, and operational deployment.
Extensive experience in one or more Systems Engineering functions such as Requirements Development, Modeling & Simulation (M&S), Performance Analysis, or System Design & Integration.
Previous experience working directly with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
Familiarity with Digital Engineering methodologies and Digital Transformation initiatives.
Experience leading strategic enterprise-level initiatives.
Active or current U.S. DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance.
