IT Business Analyst – Industrial Automation

Contract-to-Hire | Onsite – The Woodlands, TX

An industrial automation systems integrator is seeking an IT Business Analyst to support a large-scale terminal automation project for a key client in The Woodlands. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with full-time onsite work (5 days per week).

This role sits at the intersection of business operations and technical delivery. You will be responsible for translating business needs into actionable technical requirements, driving Toptech Systems projects from planning through deployment, and ensuring successful adoption by end users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Toptech Systems initiatives, including site rollouts, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, define scope, and establish clear project objectives

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure alignment with IT and engineering teams

• Serve as the primary liaison between business units, IT, vendors, and system integrators

• Manage project schedules, resources, risks, and dependencies using standard project management methodologies

• Coordinate testing, training, and change management activities during system deployments

• Monitor system performance and user feedback post-implementation and drive continuous improvement

• Work directly with Toptech Systems support, third-party vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and plan enhancements

• Ensure compliance with service level agreements and project deliverables

• Create and maintain project documentation, including:

  • Project charters and plans

  • Status reports and stakeholder updates

  • Post-implementation reviews

  • User guides and system configuration documentation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field

• 3+ years of experience in IT business analysis or IT project management

• Experience supporting technology projects in industrial automation, terminal operations, fuel logistics, or similar environments

• Strong working knowledge of Toptech Systems (TMS6, TMS7)

• Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex, multi-stakeholder projects

• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite project environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in terminal automation or petroleum distribution environments

• Exposure to or working knowledge of:

  • SAP

  • Linux

  • SQL

  • Toptech Multiloads and FCMs
