Commercial BAS | Central & Western Louisiana
A growing Building Automation Consulting firm is hiring multiple Remote Building Automation Technicians to support commercial BAS projects throughout Central and Western Louisiana, including Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Alexandria.
This is a true work-from-home field role. There is no office reporting, you set your schedule based on project demand, and you’re home every night. Overnight travel is limited to approximately 5–10% annually and is planned so you’re always home on weekends.
All time worked is paid. Overtime is generally moderate, but large projects can create opportunities for significant OT when needed.
This role supports commercial building automation systems across multiple control platforms and project phases. You’ll be hands-on in the field and expected to troubleshoot systems down to the control panel level.
Key responsibilities include:
Install, configure, service, and support commercial BAS equipment
Perform panel-level troubleshooting involving controllers, I/O, power, and communications
Diagnose issues related to field devices, wiring, networks, and basic control logic
Support system startup, point-to-point checkout, and basic functional testing
Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings, submittals, and sequences of operation
Assist with project execution from startup through closeout
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and senior technicians
Provide on-site technical support and respond to customer system questions
Document work and complete tasks in line with project schedules and quality standards
This position offers exposure to systems such as Siemens, Niagara, Distech, and other leading commercial BAS platforms, with room to grow into commissioning and advanced diagnostics over time.
