Position: Staff Facilities Electrical Engineer


Location: Toledo, OH area

Position Overview

The Facilities Electrical Engineer will play a key role in managing and executing capital and expense projects at an industrial manufacturing facility in the Toledo, Ohio area. Reporting to the Facilities Engineering and Support Services Manager, this role provides both project management leadership and hands-on technical expertise across electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition.

This position is responsible for leading projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with operational goals, budget constraints, and schedule commitments. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical depth, field execution experience, and cross-functional leadership in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Project Execution

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of capital and expense projects from initial concept through commissioning and closeout.

  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within approved budgets while meeting business and operational objectives.

Project Leadership & Coordination

  • Serve as Project Lead for both multi-disciplinary and single-discipline projects.

  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and resource plans.

  • Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and external vendors to ensure effective execution.

Technical Oversight & Engineering Support

  • Develop technical specifications, data sheets, and design criteria for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.

  • Review and evaluate vendor proposals and recommend best-value technical solutions based on reliability, maintainability, safety, and life-cycle cost.

Field Execution & Construction Support

  • Provide on-site leadership during installations and commissioning activities.

  • Conduct field inspections, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical challenges during project execution.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and external partners to ensure projects align with facility needs and operational requirements.

Controls, Instrumentation & Automation Support

  • Provide technical oversight to support instrumentation, control systems, and data acquisition platforms.

Technology & Standards Development

  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

  • Develop and implement engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure long-term system sustainability and consistency.

Environmental, Health & Safety

  • Actively support site Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.

  • Ensure all projects and engineering activities are executed in compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.

  • Proven experience leading capital projects and managing project teams in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong background in industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition design.

  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, AutomationDirect, and GE PLC platforms preferred.

  • Experience with HMI platforms such as GE iFIX, GE Cimplicity, and Wonderware is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering results.
