Quality Control (QC) Inspector – Full-Time
Location: North Houston, TX
About the Role:
A leading manufacturing firm in North Houston is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join their team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all products meet established quality standards and comply with safety requirements. The QC Inspector will perform inspections, testing, and documentation, helping maintain high-quality output throughout the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical and electrical systems, materials, and finished products.
- Record inspection results, identify nonconformities, and communicate findings to production and project teams.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers and management to implement corrective and continuous improvement actions.
- Assist in the creation and updating of procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Plan and execute internal process audits and participate in customer, ISO, and regulatory audits.
- Ensure calibration of all testing tools and equipment and maintain accurate calibration records.
- Support project-specific quality requirements, including site inspections and validation of I&E system commissioning.
- Document inspection activities, prepare detailed reports, and maintain inspection and QA/QC records.
- Work closely with construction, engineering, and safety teams to resolve any quality issues safely and efficiently.
- Attend required training and maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in quality inspection, testing, or production oversight within a facility governed by a certified QMS (ISO 9001, API, or similar).
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Solid knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, power distribution equipment (SWGR, MCC, SWBDS), and testing methods.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards including ANSI, ASTM, ASME, NEMA, API, and NEC.
- Skilled in using measurement and testing equipment for electrical and instrumentation inspections.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and travel to multiple project sites as required.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) through the American Society for Quality (ASQ) is highly desirable.
