Converge Resources is actively seeking a Power Distribution Design Manager to join a leading Engineering & Consulting Firm in the Power/Utilities sector. This position is 100% remote, supporting projects across the U.S., with a focus on utility distribution systems.
The ideal candidate will bring 20+ years of hands-on experience in electrical utility distribution (4kV–34kV), both above and below ground, with a strong background in managing project teams and driving group-level success. Candidates should possess a proven track record leading large, complex projects for investor-owned utilities, campuses, or developers, while mentoring engineering staff and ensuring exceptional technical and financial outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in utility distribution engineering (4kV–34kV), including both overhead and underground systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; PE license is mandatory. MBA, PMP, or MSEE is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated success in managing multidisciplinary teams and executing projects across reliability, capacity expansion, network centers, and facility relocations.
- Strong project management skills with experience in budget oversight, proposal development, and team leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities:- Lead and oversee a high-performing group of electrical distribution engineers, ensuring technical excellence and consistent project delivery.
- Assign staff to projects based on competency and availability, managing resource allocation and ensuring client expectations are met.
- Monitor group-wide performance metrics, including billability, productivity, and project financials.
- Serve as project lead or independent reviewer on complex distribution projects, supporting key utility clients nationwide.
- Develop and mentor engineering staff in both technical disciplines and leadership skills, fostering a growth-oriented culture.
- Partner with marketing and leadership teams to respond to high-value proposals, lead client engagements, and drive business development efforts.
- Ensure quality assurance and risk management protocols are upheld across all deliverables and client engagements.
