Field Construction Manager – Midwest Region (Remote with Travel)
An established engineering and construction firm is looking for an experienced Field Construction Manager to oversee projects across the Midwest. This is a remote role, but candidates must reside in one of the following states to allow for regular project travel: WI, IL, OH, MN, IA, ID, MI, NE, MS, KY, or KS.
The position focuses on large-scale industrial and food-related facilities, including cold storage warehouses, food and beverage processing plants, distribution centers, dairy and meat processing facilities, water treatment sites, and fulfillment centers.
Lead field operations for construction projects from mobilization through owner turnover, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
Serve as the on-site representative and primary contact for clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project managers.
Coordinate all field activities, including subcontractor performance, material procurement, equipment utilization, and labor management.
Facilitate construction meetings, review progress reports, and approve subcontractor invoices and payment requests.
Oversee shop drawing reviews, submittal processes, and quality control.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times.
Provide mentorship and direction to Assistant Field Construction staff.

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field; OR 10–15 years of equivalent field supervision experience.
Background in food facility or refrigeration-related construction preferred.
Deep understanding of construction methods, equipment, labor agreements, and industry standards.
Proficiency across all CSI divisions of work.
Familiarity with building codes, safety practices, and cost-estimating principles.
Demonstrated ability to manage high-profile industrial projects from start to finish.
