Job Title: Site Civil Engineer – Water & Wastewater Projects
Location: Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear, AZ
Overview:
A leading EPC firm is looking for a Site Civil Engineer to join our Arizona team. This position focuses on the design and development of civil infrastructure to support water and wastewater treatment facilities. The role includes detailed site planning, grading, stormwater management, and roadway/paving design, while also providing input throughout all stages of project delivery—from feasibility and permitting to construction oversight.
What You’ll Do:
Create and refine site plans that incorporate yard piping, roadways, drainage, grading, and paving for municipal and industrial water/wastewater systems.
Participate in early-stage design, including field data collection, site assessments, technical analysis, and preparation of reports.
Perform hydraulic evaluations and assist with the development of hydraulic models.
Support the permitting process by preparing documentation and reviewing alternatives.
Coordinate with project partners and consultants to ensure design accuracy and project alignment.
Draft technical reports, design documents, and digital deliverables.
Provide construction support by reviewing submittals, addressing RFIs, and monitoring site activities.
Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or a closely related engineering discipline.
5–12 years of experience in site development or civil design, ideally within water/wastewater projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prepare construction drawings, including site grading, drainage, and layout plans.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Preferred Background:
Familiarity with local permitting standards and utility codes in Arizona.
Hands-on experience with stormwater modeling programs such as HEC-RAS, InfoSWMM, or StormWise™.
Graduate degree in Civil Engineering.
Prior involvement with environmental resource permitting.
