Patent Coordinator (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Houston, TX | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (in-office, some flexibility)
Looking to grow your career in Intellectual Property law? A Houston-based law firm is hiring a Patent Coordinator on a contract-to-hire basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with IP experience who wants to support attorneys in U.S. patent filings and gain exposure to international processes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Prepare and file U.S. patent applications and prosecution documents.
Manage docket deadlines, review USPTO correspondence, and ensure filings stay on track.
Draft Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and inventor documents.
Serve as a liaison with clients, attorneys, and foreign associates.
Conduct patent and family searches; generate docket reports.
Bachelor’s degree or IP Paralegal Certification (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in Intellectual Property law preferred.
Familiarity with USPTO procedures; foreign filing experience is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IP management systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Contract-to-hire with strong long-term potential.
Work closely with attorneys and partners on meaningful patent matters.
Gain exposure to both U.S. and international patent processes.
