Patent Coordinator (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Houston, TX | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (in-office, some flexibility)

Looking to grow your career in Intellectual Property law? A Houston-based law firm is hiring a Patent Coordinator on a contract-to-hire basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with IP experience who wants to support attorneys in U.S. patent filings and gain exposure to international processes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and file U.S. patent applications and prosecution documents.

  • Manage docket deadlines, review USPTO correspondence, and ensure filings stay on track.

  • Draft Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) and inventor documents.

  • Serve as a liaison with clients, attorneys, and foreign associates.

  • Conduct patent and family searches; generate docket reports.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or IP Paralegal Certification (or equivalent experience).

  • 3+ years of experience in Intellectual Property law preferred.

  • Familiarity with USPTO procedures; foreign filing experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IP management systems.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
