Location: Midland, TX (2 week on/off rotation schedule)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Substation Engineer to join our team in Midland, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical power substation engineering, with a strong focus on field operations, maintenance, and project management. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure the reliability and efficiency of substation facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement engineering solutions for electrical power substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct field inspections and assessments of substation equipment and systems to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee and coordinate substation construction, maintenance, and upgrade projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality parameters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, project managers, and construction personnel, to ensure alignment of project objectives and deliverables.
- Analyze and interpret technical data, schematics, and blueprints to guide field operations and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to substation personnel, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance substation reliability and minimize downtime.
- Prepare and present reports, documentation, and technical presentations to stakeholders, including management and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering, substation technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical power substation engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, and MATLAB.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel and work in various field locations as required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles.
