Job Title: Field Service Technician – Water Purification Systems
Location: Remote (U.S.-based, up to 80% travel required)
Job Type: Full-Time

Overview
A leading manufacturer of engineered water purification systems is seeking a remote Field Service Technician to support their ultra-pure water treatment technology across a wide range of industries and mission-critical applications. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and training at customer sites and will require frequent travel, including to industrial and government facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair water purification systems at customer locations.

Deliver both classroom and hands-on equipment operation and maintenance training.

Supervise equipment installation and perform system commissioning and start-up.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration on mechanical and electrical systems.

Provide field diagnostics for instrumentation, PLCs, and control systems.

Adjust system parameters to optimize performance and meet customer specifications.

Accurately document service activities and maintain organized records.

Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers.

Coordinate travel logistics and manage service-related expenses independently.

Identify and communicate opportunities for additional services or upgrades.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

4–6 years of mechanical/electrical field experience in industrial environments.

Experience with troubleshooting and configuring PLC-based control systems is required.

Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and blueprints.

Hands-on experience working with instrumentation, valves, pumps, motors, and control panels.

Prior exposure to water purification or fluid handling systems is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with safety protocols (mechanical, electrical, chemical) and use of PPE.

Proficiency with standard office and service-related software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, digital service logs).

Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Must be self-directed and capable of working independently under minimal supervision.

Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including international locations if required.
