Job Title: Instrument Designer

Type: 6-month / Contract-to-hire 

Location: Houston, Texas

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Designer for a contract position in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in instrumentation and controls and will be responsible for the design and development of instrumentation systems for various industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and draft instrumentation and control systems for industrial facilities.
- Develop P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and control panel layouts.
- Collaborate with engineers and other design team members to ensure project specifications are met.
- Perform site visits to collect data and verify design requirements.
- Utilize CAD software to produce detailed design documents.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in instrumentation and controls design.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Familiarity with industry standards (ISA, IEC, ANSI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Experience:
- Experience in oil & gas, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of DCS, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
