Position: Project Manager – Industrial Construction
Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin Area (Project-based Travel Required)
An established engineering design and construction consultancy is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to manage industrial construction projects, primarily large-scale food facility developments. This role involves guiding projects from conceptual design through final occupancy, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
You will work closely with client facilities teams, architects, estimators, construction managers, external engineering consultants, and contractors to plan and execute major food industry construction projects. This position demands strong leadership, project administration, and hands-on management of scheduling, budgeting, subcontractors, procurement, and site coordination.
Lead and coordinate food facility construction projects from design initiation to completion with minimal oversight.
Manage budgets, control costs, oversee schedules, subcontractors, purchasing, construction meetings, and supplier relations.
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and specification compliance.
Act as the primary contact with clients to ensure profit margins and quality expectations are met.
Provide training and direction to Assistant Project Managers, including performance assessments.
Travel nationwide for project assignments lasting from approximately three months up to two years.

Effective time management and supervisory capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
5 to 10 years of experience managing complex construction projects.
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant building codes, construction methods, and owner occupancy requirements.
Experience in project development, cost estimating, and lifecycle management.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
Foodservice construction and refrigeration experience preferred.
Familiarity with Procore and Sage software is a plus.
Strong professional references required.
Willingness to travel frequently for projects.
