Job Description
Senior Embedded Systems Engineer
LOCATION - Atlanta, GA (Remote/Onsite)
ENGAGEMENT :Contract,1 year extendable
CONTRACT TYPE :W2 or C2C
ROLE OVERVIEW
Hands-on senior embedded engineering role spanning firmware, embedded Linux, high-speed interfaces, electronics integration,
test automation, and productization for robotics/automation systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Architect and develop embedded software across the full stack, from bare-metal/RTOS firmware on microcontrollers to embedded Linux on application processors, including BSPs, drivers, networking, and system services.
Select, implement, and validate high-bandwidth digital interfaces such as MIPI CSI-2, PCIe, USB 3.x, and Gigabit Ethernet, as well as board-level buses including SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
Interface with, control, and characterize lighting power electronics, including PWM/current control, strobe timing, sensor
synchronization, and bench measurement of performance.
Evaluate technical feasibility and lead engineering trade-offs across performance, cost, power, and schedule.
Collaborate across hardware, mechanical, test, and software teams to ensure solutions meet system requirements.
Take concepts from prototype through detailed design, verification, and handover to production.
Establish strong engineering practices including unit and hardware-in-the-loop testing, CI, code review, and design documentation.
Develop IP through invention disclosures and patents and mentor engineers across the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of experience delivering embedded solutions in robotics, IoT, electronics, embedded systems, advanced sensing,
vision, or AI/physical AI.
Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++, Python for tooling/test automation, and Git.
Solid experience with embedded Linux and networking, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, and time synchronization such as PTP.
Experience developing firmware for resource-constrained devices.
Working knowledge of electronics, including schematic reading, board bring-up with EE partners, and power electronics basics
such as PWM, current regulation, and thermal limits.
Hands-on lab skills with oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers, and power measurement equipment, with awareness of signal-
integrity issues on high-speed interfaces.
Experience writing unit tests and building automated or hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
Proven ability to take solutions from concept to launch and deliver on schedule using Agile methods and project management
practices.
Excellent communication skills and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Cybernetics/Robotics, Embedded Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Deeper hardware experience: schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium/KiCad), LED drivers or power conversion circuits, and
EMC/EMI.
Test engineering depth: test fixtures, HIL rigs, end-of-line/production test, DVT/PVT, reliability testing, and frameworks such as
pytest.
Higher-level software exposure: edge/backend services, containers, MQTT, gRPC, ROS 2, OTA updates, secure boot, and
device security.
Domain depth in camera/sensor pipelines, machine vision, edge AI inference (GStreamer/TensorRT), or radio-based sensors
such as RFID/NFC.
