Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Lead Product and AI Solutions Architect to guide the architecture and evolution of a government-focused digital marketplace platform.
You will work closely with client technology, product and engineering leaders to assess the existing platform, translate product specifications into scalable technical designs, establish AI engineering guardrails and lead a distributed nearshore delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
• Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Assess the existing platform architecture, source code, data model, integrations and engineering practices.
- Translate business and product specifications into scalable architecture, solution designs and implementation plans.
- Define architecture across user experience, application services, APIs, workflows, integrations, security and data layers.
• AI & Agentic Engineering
- Design AI-powered matching, recommendation and intelligent workflow capabilities.
- Define standards and guardrails for AI-assisted and agentic software engineering.
- Establish measurable controls for model quality, evaluation, security, reliability and delivery productivity.
• Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work directly with client leadership, product owners, designers, engineers and quality teams to clarify scope and resolve architectural decisions.
- Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, technical discovery and solution walkthroughs.
- Guide nearshore engineers and define phased roadmaps, estimates, dependencies, risks and implementation priorities.
Required Technical Skills & Competencies
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in solution, product or enterprise architecture roles.
• Strong experience designing cloud-native, multi-user SaaS, marketplace or workflow-driven platforms.
• Expertise in application architecture, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems and integration patterns.
• Strong experience with relational databases, data modelling, authentication, authorization and role-based access.
• Experience designing AI-enabled applications using large language models, retrieval, intelligent matching or recommendation capabilities.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, scalability, performance, observability and production engineering.
• Ability to review existing code, identify architectural gaps and provide practical build recommendations.
• Experience leading distributed or nearshore engineering teams and working directly with senior client stakeholders.
Good to Have
• Experience with government, public-sector, nonprofit or disaster-response platforms.
• Experience with marketplace, logistics, supply-chain or inventory-management solutions.
• Exposure to Supabase, PostgreSQL, modern JavaScript frameworks and cloud-native platforms.
• Knowledge of government security, compliance, auditability and reporting expectations.
• Experience building AI-powered product matching or recommendation engines.
• Prior experience establishing or scaling a nearshore engineering team.
Must-Have Skills
• Strong hands-on product and solution architecture experience.
• Cloud-native SaaS, API, workflow and data architecture expertise.
• Practical experience with AI-enabled applications and agentic engineering governance.
• Ability to assess an existing codebase and convert evolving specifications into buildable architecture.
