Job Summary:
An ideal candidate is a highly experienced system design engineer capable of leading and guiding a small agile team of engineers to develop circuits, embedded firmware, and software
used in battery formation and chemistry research. Ideally, the candidate should be comfortable leading and coaching team members as well contributing to system architecture and
implementation. Thus, such a candidate should be knowledgeable and comfortable in project planning, embedded design, circuit design, linear system analysis, control theory, and the typical tools necessary for such.
Responsibilities:
Lead an agile team to develop systems for battery formation and research,
Plan and manage complex engineering projects for chemistry research,
Coordinate with other groups worldwide to plan and set technology and development strategy,
Regularly communicate plans and status with business leaders,
Architect and design circuits and systems for battery research, testing and manufacturing,
Architect, model, analyze, and develop custom electronics to support battery production and chemistry research. This includes circuit design, firmware, software, etc.
Model, analyze, and develop control algorithms for power control and management
for battery formation,
Architect and develop test and calibration of custom electronic battery formation and research systems,
Coordinate with suppliers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, or computer science.
15+ years’ experience in the industry developing complex electronic systems.
Self-motivated and high energy.
Strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of battery and battery chemistry.
Expert in circuit and system design.
Expert in embedded programming for digital signal controllers and small microcontrollers.
Excellent understanding of common MCU architectures, 8051, PIC, ARM, etc.
Excellent knowledge of common MCU peripherals (ADC, SPI, SMB, UART, etc).
Expert in embedded C programming.
Expert in Python code development.
Expert in control theory and closed-loop analysis.
Excellent knowledge of real-time design techniques for embedded systems.
Knowledge of power converter topologies, control, and design.
Knowledge of digital signal processing techniques.
Knowledge of PC application development.
