Systems Analyst
Austin, Texas (Hybrid- three days per week in the office)
6 Months Contract
Roles and responsibilities
• Planning and analysis:
o Assess the current data landscape by running pre-migration reports to profile existing content, usage, and permissions.
o Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document business processes, and understand content migration needs.
o Analyze existing legacy workflows, customizations, and integrations to determine a migration strategy for each.
o Develop and document a detailed migration plan, including information architecture, taxonomy, timelines, and testing procedures.
• Execution:
o Use migration tools, including but not limited to Microsoft's SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT), or Metalogix, to execute migrations.
o Schedule and perform the migration of content, sites, lists, and files to Microsoft 365 services like SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
o Manage and execute migration tasks, including provisioning new sites and ensuring correct permissions and administrative settings are applied.
• Quality assurance and remediation:
o Run post-migration reports to analyze results and identify any errors, issues, or skipped items.
o Perform quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate data integrity, functionality, and user experience.
o Troubleshoot and remediate errors, collaborating with technical teams and site owners as needed.
• User support and governance:
o Develop training materials and user guides to support the adoption of the new SharePoint Online environment.
o Provide end-user training and support to facilitate the transition to the new platform.
o Contribute to the development and implementation of a SharePoint Online governance model, including guidelines and best practices.
o Work with site owners to guide them in content preparation, such as data cleansing and content standardization, before migration.
o Coordinate or oversee complex issues or incidents and solving problems.
o Assist in reviewing and providing recommendations to enterprise-wide hardware and software standards.
o Assist in analyzing and defining agency disaster recovery procedures as related to the role.
o Adding users, controlling access to document libraries, and setting permissions.
Minimum required skills and qualifications
• At least four (4) years of experience with SharePoint administration, including creating and managing site collections, permissions, and features.
• Four (4) years of hands-on experience with migration tools such as Metalogix, or Microsoft's native migration tools.
• Four (4) years of demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
• Four (4) years of experience scripting for automation, especially using PowerShell.
Preferred skills and qualifications
• At least six (6) years of experience with SharePoint administration, including creating and managing site collections, permissions, and features.
• Six (6) years of hands-on experience with migration tools such as Metalogix, or Microsoft's native migration tools.
• Six (6) years of demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
• Six (6) years of experience scripting for automation, especially using PowerShell The ideal candidate would display the following skills and/or qualities:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot migration-related issues.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting, potentially using tools like advanced Excel or Power BI.
• Ability to conduct gap analysis and perform risk assessment for migration projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working within project methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience in documenting technical processes, requirements, and user guides.
