Electrical Engineer – Solar & Battery Energy Storage (BESS) 
Location: Bangalore or Hyderabad
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 5+ years

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with a solid background in electric grid networks, solar PV systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role requires hands-on experience with design engineering, network planning, and project execution for energy systems, particularly sub-10MW / 25MWh BESS projects connected to distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead design and planning of solar + battery storage projects connected to distribution systems
• Create and manage Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), geo-referenced site layouts, and AutoCAD drawings
• Size equipment including overhead (OH) and underground (UG) cables, inverter transformers, auxiliary power transformers, and conduits
• Specify reclosers, auxiliary panels, and routing for 480Vac auxiliary power
• Develop and maintain a full BoP Bill of Materials (BoM) for procurement
• Coordinate with BoP Kit Suppliers, EMS vendors, and construction staff
• Support during construction and commissioning phases by addressing technical queries and site change requests
• Evaluate OEM BESS container/block proposals considering SOH, SOC, degradation, BMS inputs, and life management algorithms
• Assist in the selection of EMS and SCADA systems, ensuring integration with site design
• Collaborate with civil/mechanical engineers for AC/DC block support structures, container transport logistics, and equipment placement

Skills & Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
5+ years of relevant experience in renewables, grid engineering, or utility-scale BESS
Proficient in AutoCAD, including geo-referenced drawings
Strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and US standards
Ability to size and select electrical equipment based on local site conditions
Familiarity with EMS/SCADA systems and grid interconnection Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
Willingness to expand into civil and mechanical aspects of project delivery

Nice to Have:
• Experience with US-based distribution utilities
• Hands-on support for field engineering/construction teams
• Understanding of battery degradation models, BMS configurations, and control logic
