Job Description

Compass Pointe Consulting is seeking Behavioral Health Counselors to deliver non-medical, solution-focused counseling services in support of a federal government contract. These services are preventive and include goal-oriented sessions focused on stress management, coping strategies, assistance during life transitions such as relocation, school changes, and family adjustments, communication and relationship skill development, and assessment with referrals to medical or clinical providers when necessary. The overall objective of these services is to enhance resilience, readiness, and overall well-being.

This position supports a structured program delivered within your own clinical setting or in designated community-based or office environments. The role requires a high level of professionalism, flexibility, and strict adherence to federal guidelines and contractual requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide in-person, non-medical counseling services to eligible participants in alignment with contract requirements
Deliver short-term, solution-focused interventions addressing life transitions, including relocation, school changes, deployment-related adjustments, and family-related stressors
Facilitate outreach initiatives, psychoeducational briefings, workshops, and group sessions
Evaluate participant needs and coordinate referrals to medical, clinical, or community-based resources when needs extend beyond the scope of non-medical counseling
Ensure timely, accurate documentation in accordance with contract standards and reporting requirements
Maintain a professional and visible presence at assigned government or community locations
Identify and report program trends, systemic issues, and service delivery concerns to program leadership
Participate in required training, quality assurance processes, and ongoing professional development in accordance with contract expectations

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field, along with a minimum of one year of relevant professional experience
Current, active, unrestricted, and independent clinical license in good standing issued by a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or a U.S. territory (e.g., LCSW, LPC/LPCC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist), meeting all applicable scope-of-practice requirements
U.S. citizenship (required for federal contract compliance)
Ability to successfully complete all required background investigations and credentialing processes, including verification of licensure, certifications, education, employment history, and payer-specific documentation
Ability to meet the physical and environmental requirements associated with community-based service delivery
