Job Description
Systems Engineer
- On-site installation, integration, and system upgrades at customer locations (airports, ATM centers
- Active participation in system design phases, including architecture discussions and technical reviews Involvement in Critical Design Review (CDR), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) with customers
- Direct customer interaction during commissioning, acceptance, and operational phases, including support of incident and problem resolution within agreed service levels
- Close cooperation with Customer Service and Support teams during in-house and on-site system activities Documentation and analysis of reported incidents and problems
- Coordinating and carrying out root cause analyses and remedies; Designing, planning and technically executing changes and extensions to existing systems (change requests)
- Integrating systems and system components into existing system environments
- Performing system audits
- Collaborating with Product Management by providing technical and operational input for continuous product improvements and extensions, based on system lifecycle experience and customer feedback
- Supporting the transition from delivery projects to the support phase, including building up the required know-how for operating and maintaining handed-over solutions
- Drafting/updating technical documentation on systems and their interfaces
- Coordinating with product and development teams on error analysis and troubleshooting.
Key Qualifications
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (particularly RHEL), including updates, upgrades & troubleshooting issues; Bash scripting; Solid experience with virtualization platforms (VMware preferred)
- Experience with SBC & PABX
- Experience with various storage technologies
- Good understanding of basic networking
- Understanding of clustering concepts
- Ability to create technical documentation, including step-by-step instructions, specifications, and requirements
- Able to quickly adapt to frequent software releases.
Skills considered as an advantage- Experience with ATM Voice Communication Systems or safety-critical environments
- Knowledge of VoIP and SIP protocols
- Experience with analogue and digital voice interfaces Basic understanding of telecom signaling and voice networking
- Prior exposure to customer-facing system engineering roles.
Personality requirements and skills:
- Comfortable working both on-site with customers and in the office (Vienna and Bratislava), balancing technical work with communication and coordination)
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for installations, upgrades, and acceptance activities (typically planned, not ad-hoc)
