Field Engineer – Audio Visual
We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join our Audio Visual (AV) team. This role provides hands-on support both in the field and in the office, focusing on system commissioning, configuration, programming support, and documentation management. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in AV integration and a passion for delivering high-quality, fully functional systems to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field closeout and commissioning of complex audiovisual and control systems.
  • Create, modify, and fine-tune audio DSP files (Biamp, QSC, Polycom, BSS, Extron, Crestron, ClearOne).
  • Configure and troubleshoot a wide range of AV components, including networking devices, video conferencing systems, audio/video switching, projection systems, displays, cameras, microphones, and DSPs.
  • Use test equipment and software tools to ensure proper installation, calibration, and quality control of integrated AV systems.
  • Set up and configure networked AV devices including AVB, Dante, and Video over IP (NVX, Evertz, SVSI, NAV, etc.).
  • Work with video conferencing and unified communication platforms such as Cisco, Polycom, Zoom, and Google Meet.
  • Support client training and demonstrations, including preparation of training materials and documentation when needed.
  • Collaborate with the programming team to support Crestron control system configuration and commissioning.
  • Partner with engineering and management teams to enhance internal commissioning standards, documentation, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including system configurations, redlined as-built drawings, commissioning reports, and daily updates.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluations to review system design, performance, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Assist with project closeout deliverables and obtain client acceptance.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience in AV integration, commissioning, or field engineering.
  • Strong experience deploying and configuring control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron, QSC).
  • Proficiency with cable terminations for audio, video, network, fiber, and control.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles related to AV systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Technical degree or CTS certification preferred (CTS-I or CTS-D is a plus).
  • Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Polycom, etc.) are highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and work at height as required.
