The successful candidate will deliver high quality price proposals (commercial), in time, for the US Government and individual Customer’s Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ) and Request for Information (RFI). This individual will also produce budgetray proposals such as Rough order of Magnititudes (ROMs) for the Customer. The successful applicant will ensure the compliance with our clients’ offer process for preparation and delivery of the proposals. This position will report to the head of offer management.
Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Proposal Pricing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The followings are major duties of the Proposal Pricing during a proposal phase :
Participate in all proposal meetings
Actively contribute to price relevant internal / external meetings such as kick-off, pricing strategy, subcontractor pricing, price reviews, price negitiation etc.
Colloborate with project managers and engineering team
o To select the appropriate technical solution for the proposal
o To assess/ estimate required labor and Other Direct Costs (ODCs) required to deliver the selected technical solution. This includes developing of bottoms up labor estimates.
o To develop pricing assumptions
Develop pricing for the proposal. This includes
o Obtain cost data for material and labor / services
o Develop cost basis
o Conduct competitive analysis and market research to benchmark pricing against industry standards.
o Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and Finance to align pricing with customer value, market demand, and company financial objectives (profit / margin etc.)
o Calculate price for the proposal aligned with above.
Prepare cost and price summary for internal price reviews
Utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database for price approval
Support contract negotiation (price update / revisions), as required.
Support contract review process by ensuring pricing accuracy on the contract or purchase order.
Support any other proposal / offer management tasks, as assigned.
Addition to leading the proposal pricing effort , the Proposal Pricing Specialist will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing pricing strategies that support our technology solutions and drive profitable growth. This includes :
Build and maintain costing and pricing models (i.e. calcs, rates, price list), tools, and reports (for internal stakeholders).
Develop and implement pricing strategies for new and existing technology products and services.
Analyze pricing data and customer insights to recommend adjustments that optimize revenue and profitability.
Monitor and report on pricing performance and identify areas for improvement.
Assist in the development of pricing for promotions, discounts, and special programs.
Ensure clear documentation of pricing policies, procedures, and changes (in accordance with company pricing guidelines).
Minimum Qualifications & Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Finance
At least 3 years of relevant experience in the major functional areas and description of duties above, in an engineering or mathematical sector (background in financial calculation will also qualify)
Strong and proven analytical reasoning skills
Power User of Microsoft Excel (demonstrated experience in excel spreadsheet data manipulation using excel functions such as vlookup, pivot charts, index, sumif etc)
Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio
Detail-oriented and commitment to complete tasks on-time, with accuracy.
Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal guidance.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities
Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Desired Qualifications & Skill Set:
Familiarity with high level IT solution architecture development and IT system integration
Proficient with creating and executing excel macros
Experience in developing proposal cost calculation including Basis of Estimates
Experience with creating cost templates, price list
Proven ability in planning, producing and delivering compliant proposals within a complex business environment. That includes capability to convert complex and/or conflicting requirements and priorities into clear and distinct proposals
Experience in scheduling and running proposal kick-off meetings, leading storyboarding sessions, facilitating key review meetings / final document review, coordinating proposal governance/sign off, document production and delivery of the completed proposal.
