Sr Business Systems Analyst




Compass Pointe has partnered with a global financial company that is looking for a Sr Business Systems Analyst.

• Working independently and fully accountable for own work.
• Defining technical specifications in alignment with business requirements.
• Knowledge of product/flows within the domain supported.
• Prepares data visualizations and process flow diagrams and delivers results to multiple audiences from management to production teams.
• Understanding of business needs and able to translate them into plans for technology solutions.
• Working closely and developing relationships with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all user story requirements are understood, documented, and met.
• Ensuring a lean-agile mind-set is applied to work projects.
• Independently working on initiatives of moderate complexity, size, and impact.
• Breaking down and communicating to non-technical audiences various complex or vague problems, options, and recommended steps to address.
• Evolving a solution or decision as new information is gained.
• Finding opportunities for process improvements.
• Assisting in implementation of new processes including identification of risks and information gaps that must be addressed to ensure a successful outcome.
• Identifying when other team members need help and providing it in a clear, logical, and well documented way to ensure success.
• Displaying dedication to helping team overall.


  • 10 years working as a business or technical analyst.
    • Experience working in Agile or Kanban environment and familiarity with Rally or JIRA.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work independently on projects and tasks.
    • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences using multiple forms such as verbal and written.
    • Experience identifying clear acceptance criteria that will be used to judge system solution success.
    • Strong analytical skill and experience working with Business team to refine user stories and getting them development ready.
    • Experience developing business requirements and/or detailed user stories.
    • Experience with database querying techniques including strong SQL skills.
    • Experience working with data and data models.
    • Experience identifying system/process/data needs and impacts (upstream and downstream).
    • Experience working with other teams or interfacing applications to identify, document and manage dependencies and potentially competing priorities.
    • Experience proposing and documenting options, alternatives, and possible remediation ideas.
    • Experience creating and/or executing test cases, test plans and identifying opportunities for test automation solutions.

** Previous financial institution experience is a plus**
