Job Description
We have partnered with a firm in Washington, DC that is looking to hire an Information Security Specialist. In this role you will help oversee the security of the IT infrastructure, including the protection of information systems and data from unauthorized access, ensuring that all systems are functional and secure. You will be identifying and solving security problems and developing/implementing information security standards and procedures.
Candidates will work onsite, M-F. There is an opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after the first couple of months. Eligible candidates must be a US Citizen per client requirements, as well as provide proof of covid vaccination upon request.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and implementing information security standards and procedures, including incident response plans
- Vulnerability scanning (Nessus) and remediation
- Identifying and solving security problems
- Recommending and implementing security improvements
- Protecting LAN/WAN and cloud-based systems from unauthorized access
- Firewall, switch and VPN administration/security management (Cisco)
- Packet capture/analysis, Netflow analysis, and network access control product management
- OS and application patch management (Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe, or Java)
- Multi-factor authentication management
- Responding to IDS/IPS and other security alerts in a timely manner
- Assisting the team with tech support and help desk requests as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Prefer a bachelor's degree and must have 2 years' experience in the field of information security administration *experience can be substituted for degree
- Microsoft Windows Operating System (client and server)
- Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls
- Nessus vulnerability scanning
- LAN/WAN experience, Packet capture and analysis, and network security
- Patch management/deployment (Microsoft SCCM/MECM)
- IT support/tracking and monitoring support issues to ensure a timely and satisfactory resolution to problems
