Systems / Network Support Engineer



Aberdeen, MD

This is a client facing role with company car available.  Typical week would be 3 days in office or at client site – 2 days from home.



Compass Pointe has partnered with a client that is seeking an IT Support Engineer. In this role you will implement solutions like O365, Servers, Firewalls, Monitoring Software, AntiSpam and provide escalated support to small-to-mid size businesses like Attorney Office, Architectural Firms, etc. .


A Sampling of duties includes:

  • Plan, design and implement projects in a virtualized Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Install, configure and test network hardware and software required for installation.
  • Maintain an efficient and secure IT infrastructure for medium sized networks.
  • Provide remote and onsite support for help desk escalations and project work.


To be successful; you should possess most of the following:

  • 5+ years’ experience working for an IT consultant firm or have provided support to external clients.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies like Office 365, Azure, Hyper-V, VMware
  • Understanding of Servers and Network equipment.
  • Experience with Active Directory, DHCP, VPN, LAN, WAN, DNS, and Firewalls
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows and Exchange Server
  • Clean driving record (will drive Company car to client sites as needed)
  • Passion for technology and to keep up to date on emerging technologies




  • Microsoft, CompTIA A+, Security+ or Network+.
