Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Part-Time Physician (MD or DO) to join their team in the Boyertown/Reading, PA area. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care in a supportive, collaborative environment. The schedule is flexible, with part-time hours and the potential for future expansion as their practice grows.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate primary care services, including comprehensive and focused physical examinations, health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure, arthritis, COPD, and thyroid disorders.
Assess the need for appropriate lab tests, order and interpret results.
Collaborate with medical specialties through appropriate referrals.
Coordinate community resources to meet patient and family needs and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Educate patients on health promotion and wellness throughout the aging process.
Establish and monitor appropriate levels of care for patients.
Complete all medical record documentation promptly.
Work with the Medical Director to ensure operations comply with professional standards of care.
Recommend potential growth opportunities for new or existing services.
Participate in quality management processes and mentor clinical support staff.
Communicate with patients as needed following visits to ensure well-being.
Provide guidance to other medical personnel and center colleagues in the absence of the Medical Director.
Qualifications:
Current, clear, and active license to practice medicine (MD or DO) in Pennsylvania.
Experience in primary care is preferred; geriatric certification or background in behavioral health/psychiatric medicine is a plus.
Eligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate effectively with clinical teams, and independently.
Familiarity with telehealth platforms, billing systems, coding standards, and care coordination programs is desired.
A few years of relevant clinical experience preferred; new graduates not ideal.
Excellent English communication skills.
Must successfully complete light background and reference checks.
