Centurion is hiring a Linux Systems Engineer for a long term project. This is open to US Citizens and it is onsite in Washington DC.
Job Summary: The Senior Systems Engineer will play a critical role in supporting a Linux-based high-performance computing server environment. This platform is essential for conducting statistical analysis and economic research across various business lines within the client. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the platform's reliability, performance, and security, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet the analytical needs of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
o Manage and maintain Linux-based high-performance computing servers.
o Perform routine system updates, patches, and security configurations.
o Monitor system performance and optimize resources to ensure high availability and efficiency.
o Provide Tier 3 support for the Board Analytics Platform, addressing complex technical issues and ensuring minimal downtime.
o Collaborate with business lines to understand their analytical requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
o Work closely with data scientists, economists, and other stakeholders to ensure the platform meets their needs.
o Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge sharing.
o Implement and maintain security protocols to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements.
o Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
o Participate in projects aimed at enhancing the platform's capabilities, including upgrades, new feature implementations, and performance improvements.
o Contribute to the design and architecture of the platform in collaboration with the systems engineering team.
o Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical issues and ensure the platform's continuous operation.
