Sr Lead Technical Writer
Centurion is seeking a talented and experienced Information Technology Technical Writer to join our team. As an IT Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for our software products, IT systems, and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology, excellent writing skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Documenting Software and Systems: Produce clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation for software applications, IT systems, and processes, ensuring accessibility and ease of understanding for users and stakeholders alike.
- User Guides and Manuals: Produce user-friendly guides, manuals, and tutorials to empower users in efficiently navigating and leveraging our products and services to their fullest potential.
- Technical Specifications: Collaborate closely with software developers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather precise technical specifications and requirements, ensuring accuracy and relevance in documentation projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Remain abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in information technology and technical writing, driving continuous enhancement of documentation processes and standards to uphold excellence and relevance.
Required Skills:
- Master's degree with 10 years of experience.
- Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
- Demonstrated experience writing and editing government documentation.
- Experience writing, editing, producing, and overseeing reports, presentations, and/or similar documentation; experience editing technical journal articles, research papers, manuscripts, and/or books; knowledge of the end-to-end documentation process, from intake to printed and electronic output and distribution.
- Experience with both HTML pages and Metadata Tags
- Experience with Chatbot requirement and specification development
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate and advocate discipline-related knowledge, services, and programs.
- Capable of transforming complicated subject matter and diverse source material into accurate, coherent, and engaging content for a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team in a highly flexible work environment.
- Demonstrated creative and technical initiative and resourcefulness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence.
- Must be a US citizen and possess a minimum of a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Proven experience in managing and delivering projects on time and within budget, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Basic understanding of technical concepts relating to software development, engineering, and networking.
