Job Description

Centurion is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their client's team in Norfolk, VA.

Job Summary:
Performs a variety of accounting clerical duties involved in maintaining projects and grants records, reimbursements, reconciliations, verifying financial activity, and preparing periodic reports.

• Maintains and updates computerized project and grant records.
• Enters invoice information to create project invoice proposals for reimbursements
• Reviews invoices and payment records for reimbursements; makes sure the project postings match invoices; prepares support for reimbursements.
• Reconciles expenses and project postings.
• Enters data into projects and grants systems.
• Verifies calculation of project expense information.
• Tracks reimbursements to ensure timely payment and recording
• Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting methods and processes as they relate to revenue accounting.
  • Practical knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
  • Ability to enter data into accounting records accurately.
  • Ability to review and consolidate large volumes of data into logical, consistent format.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential.
  • Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected.
  • Software applications: D365, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite

Education:

  • Possession of a High School diploma or GED certificate. Accounting or bookkeeping courses.
  • One year of experience in accounting clerical work, data entry, or related experience.
  • One-year experience in the use of commercial word processing and spreadsheet software packages.
