Job Description
Centurion Consulting Group is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to manage and maintain our server and workstation environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for software release management, system configuration, vulnerability mitigation, and supporting database operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to improving IT processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a quality-controlled software release system for servers and end-user workstations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software delivery and deployment.
- Schedule and deploy OS components, patches, service packs, antivirus updates, and custom/internal/COTS software using MECM, Ansible, automation tools, or manual methods.
- Build, upgrade, and configure servers with documented security settings and ensure proper placement within the network.
- Assess the impact of revised application software packages certified by the Postal Service and prepare for production release.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Conduct testing for software installations and updates following USPS Program Team approval.
- Monitor and remediate system vulnerabilities using system management tools.
- Prepare and present project plans, reports, and data visualizations using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing Oracle RDBMS, Oracle eBusiness Suite, and/or NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and query writing.
- Proficiency in UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Education:
- A degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field is preferred.
- If no degree is held, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with MECM, Ansible, and other automation/deployment tools.
- Familiarity with USPS systems and software certification processes.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
