Job Description

Centurion Consulting Group is currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive Linux Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux-based server infrastructure. This role involves deploying software and system updates, ensuring security compliance, and supporting both Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with automation tools, database management, and vulnerability remediation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and deploy operating system components, patches, service packs, antivirus updates, and custom/internal/COTS software using Ansible, other automation tools, or manual methods.
• Build, upgrade, troubleshoot, and configure servers with documented security settings.
• Assess the impact of revised application software packages certified by the Postal Service and prepare for production release.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Conduct testing for software installations and updates following USPS Program Team approval.
• Monitor, mitigate, and remediate system vulnerabilities using system management tools.
• Provide project documentation, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other tools.
• Administer Windows servers when required, in addition to Linux systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing Oracle RDBMS, Oracle eBusiness Suite, and/or NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of database design, optimization, and query writing.
• Proficiency in UNIX and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education:

• A degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field is preferred.
• If no degree is held, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Ansible and other automation/deployment tools.
• Familiarity with USPS systems and software certification processes.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
