Job Description

Centurion Consulting Group is looking for a Network Architecture Support Analyst for a long term federal government project.  This position is Hybrid, with some onsite in Alexandria, VA.  This is open to US Citizens with an Active Secret Clearance.

This Role overview:
• Help modernize Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) transport and security through communications transport policy, Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) tech refresh, legacy elimination, Joint Reginal Security Stack (JRSS) deprecation, data center optimization, Internet Protocol Version Six (IPv6) strategy, and 4th Estate Network Optimization.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide subject matter expertise and technical analysis in the areas of network operations to include hybrid and hyper-converged compute optimization.
• Support development and coordination of implementation plans to modernize and optimize network capabilities (i.e., DISN, Military Department (MILDEP) network convergence optimization; 4th Estate Network Optimization; SIPRNet Modernization, edge cloud, IT technical debt, TDM elimination) in support of Department priorities to increase security, enhance effectiveness and gain efficiencies across the DoDIN.
• Conduct reviews of component implementation plans and support the development and coordination of recommended investment strategies for infrastructure consolidation and optimization.
• Support the identification of opportunities presented by advances in technology for Information Technology (IT) system modernization as well as associated risks and costs to include Software Defined Networking (SDN), hybrid cloud-based computing including hyper-converged services, and common enterprise-level shared services to support full-stack service delivery.
• Make recommendations on the initiation, modification, or termination of plans, programs, policies, and procedures to support optimization and technology enhancements for the DoDIN.
• Support the development and coordination of plans to incorporate these advanced technologies.
• Provide subject matter expertise and technical analysis in Internet Protocol Version Six (IPv6), including standards, industry trends, global adoption, best current practices, training, implementation, and network security.
• Support development and coordination of plans to implement IPv6 services within the DoDIN and Internet base capabilities (e.g., cloud services, web services, mobile apps, etc.).
• Provide Internet Domain Name and IP Address Space Use and Approval support and technical analysis. Support the update of pertinent DoD instructions and submission of domain name requests. Provide analysis of submission request packages and provide recommendations to DoD CIO leadership.
• Provide Fourth Estate Network Optimization management and analysis support of the Defense Agencies and DoD Field Activities (DAFAs) migration to DoDNET.
• Support development, coordination, and tracking of progress and upcoming milestones with the DoDNET Project Management Office (PMO) and the DAFAs to migrate to DoDNET.

Required Skills:
• Experience with network architecture and design.
• Expertise with Cloud Hosting Services Description Documents, Environment Validation, and Reports.
• Proficiency in AWS services including S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate, Aurora RDS, MediaLive, and more.
• Hands-on experience in network engineering, network administration, network architecture, and design.
• Experience implementing dual-stack and IPv6-only architectures in security-sensitive production environments.
• Ability to lead technical planning for IPv6 transition initiatives in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform under pressure during live events.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with various AWS capabilities and services.
• Experience with AWS networking and database architecture.
• Experience optimizing and managing AWS/cloud infrastructure costs including storage, computing, and database.
• Experience across various architecture frameworks including Platform as a Service (PaaS) such as OpenShift, Virtual Desktop Environments, and Virtual Server infrastructure.
• Experience with System (hardware, software, and networking) Design and Architecture
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with an analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
• Must be operationally oriented and able to multitask/prioritize work in a high-volume environment.
• Expert in process improvement initiatives and their implementations.
• Proven records of strategy development and implementation.
• Working knowledge of development policies and guidelines.

• Understand the role of the Senior Military Aide/Advisor (SMA).

• Solid knowledge of MS Office suite especially with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Experience with interacting with Government officials and senior military personnel.

• Good writing and briefing skills.
• Master's degree and 12 years of experience or 18 years of experience without the degree.
