Summary

Capstone IT is helping our client to find a Java Integration Engineer II / Software Engineer who will develop, integrate, modernize, and support enterprise applications and APIs for Health and Annuity administration systems. This engineer will build full-stack Java applications, modernize legacy systems, develop cloud-based integrations in AWS, create APIs and microservices, and collaborate with Agile teams to deliver secure, scalable software solutions. This is a 6 month contract to hire position.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications.
• Design, build, and support APIs and microservices.
• Integrate modern applications with legacy CAPSIL mainframe systems.
• Build cloud-native solutions using AWS.
• Participate in architecture, technical design, and Agile planning.
• Write unit and automated tests.
• Troubleshoot production issues and resolve defects.
• Support modernization initiatives across Health and Annuity platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, business partners, and engineering teams.
• Produce production-ready code, documentation, and deployment support.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and Spring Boot full-stack development experience.
• Experience with MuleSoft integration.
• AWS cloud development experience.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, and TypeScript.
• GitHub, GitHub Copilot, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD experience.
• Unit testing and test automation experience.
• Agile software development experience.
• Experience integrating legacy systems (CAPSIL preferred).
• Insurance or annuity industry experience preferred.
