Role context:
Within this organization's ESS (Enterprise Solutions & Services) division, this engineer is expected to be a core technical contributor who shapes application development strategy as much as they execute it. The role is not narrowly scoped to ticket-driven development — this person is expected to facilitate solution brainstorming, drive technology exploration, and proactively identify ways to advance the division's product and service capabilities.
The engineer will need to navigate ambiguity — requirements may not always be fully defined, and the expectation is that this person can move forward independently, make sound architectural decisions, and escalate thoughtfully. Cross-functional collaboration is a strong theme: they'll work alongside infrastructure teams, business stakeholders, and peer engineers, requiring both technical depth and communication fluency.
Adaptability is central to the role. The person is expected to shift between roles — individual contributor, technical lead, mentor — depending on the project phase or team need. The remote-first nature of this position amplifies the need for autonomous working style and strong written communication.
