Capstone IT is helping our client find a Technical Product Owner who will work directly with Agile/Scrum engineering teams to translate product vision, business requirements, and UX designs into structured, development-ready user stories. This person will own backlog quality, ensure stories meet Definition of Ready standards, and partner closely with Engineering and UX to drive clear, testable execution in technically complex environments (authentication, permissions, integrations, shared services). The role is hands-on and delivery-focused, ensuring features are well-defined, sequenced correctly, and aligned to measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Act as the voice of the product within Scrum teams
Translate business requirements and UX mockups into structured, testable user stories
Break down large features into sequenced backlog items aligned to Definition of Ready
Identify dependencies, edge cases, and cross-team impacts early
Participate in architectural discussions and validate technical feasibility
Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and story refinement
Communicate risks, trade-offs, and progress across Engineering, UX, Security, and Leadership
Translate compliance and security requirements into actionable backlog items
Deliver business-focused sprint demos
Define and track success metrics (adoption, workflow efficiency, risk reduction, ticket reduction)
Qualifications

Required:

7+ years in Product Ownership or Agile delivery roles
Strong experience in Scrum-based environments
Demonstrated ability to decompose complex features into executable user stories
Experience working with engineering teams in technically complex environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
