Capstone IT is seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Migration Specialist to support a critical legacy platform transition. This role will focus on migrating off Broadcom’s platform, particularly from CA7 to Control-M and/or CA7 to an IBM solution. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all three platforms and bring a strong background in mainframe environments, coupled with hands-on expertise in platform migration strategies and tooling.

This is a long-term opportunity to contribute to a mission-critical modernization initiative, with potential for contract extension up to two years. You’ll work alongside seasoned professionals and be empowered to make a significant technical impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or support the migration from Broadcom’s CA7 to either Control-M or an IBM-based workload automation platform.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams and application owners to plan and execute migration tasks.
• Assess system dependencies and job scheduling configurations to ensure a seamless transition.
• Validate post-migration scheduling and batch processes for accuracy and reliability.
• Document procedures, configurations, and validation checklists throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues during and after the transition phase.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders on project progress, risks, and technical considerations.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in migrating workload automation platforms, specifically:
• CA7 to Control-M or
• CA7 to IBM workload automation solutions
• Strong hands-on experience in Broadcom (CA7) environments.
• Experience with ZOS (z/OS) system installation, upgrades, and configurations is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of mainframe architecture, job scheduling, and system operations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications;

• Experience with both Control-M and IBM solutions.
• Prior consulting or client-facing roles in large-scale enterprise migrations.
• Familiarity with ITIL or structured change management methodologies.
